1. Plans Wanna jump in the buggy, wanna hit the back road, wanna slip on shades and take off a load- Wanna tune to a station where they're playin' country, wanna see you there smiling in the seat by me- Wanna head for the hills like a hawk on the wing, get a cabin in the woods with a front porch swing where the river will ripple, the frogs will sing and we won't have to do a darned thing- If we get some time on our hands, oh let's plan not to make any plans--Wanna wade in the water with my two bare feet, wanna find a field of flowers where it smells so sweet--Go up on a ridge with a view for miles, lay down on a blankie for a snooze a while--Wanna eat home cookin' at a roadside spot, get another bread pudding with the money we brought--Oh we'll be laughin' at the little we've got, and then we'll head for any map dot--If we get some time on our hands, oh let's plan not to make any plans--Your call or my call it's okay by me- we'll just wing it, foget the itinerary--If we get some time on our hands, oh let's plan not to make any plans--If we get some time on our hands, oh let's plan no to make any plans, oh let's plan not to make any plans--Come on let's go!
2. Any Other Family We got a old car tire layin' in the yard, we got a swiped up maxed out credit card- We're the crazy people in the neighborhood, but yeah let me tell ya hey life is good--We got dad drivin' round collecting junk, yeah my aunt came over 'cause my uncle's drunk- We have conversation a little loud, but that's just cause hey we're damn proud--Oh we ain't got power, ain't got money- No we ain't named Bush or Kennedy but there ain't no way I would rather be in any other family--We got grandma burning something in a pan- We got mom on sabatical in the can- It's a hair-brained, insane typical day, but we wouldn't have it any other way--Cause we ain't got power, ain't got money- No we ain't named Bush or Kennedy, but there ain't no way I would rather be in any other family, no way!--Tell me who wants to be blue blood old school-
Yeah why be important when you can be cool--We're the average folks cross the USA, so here's our chance to stand and say--Oh we ain't got power ain't got money- No we ain't named Bush or Kennedy but there ain't no way we would rather be in any other family- No in any other family- No in any other family
3. Oklahoma Coma He'll hit any fishin' hole he doesn't really care- Just make sure he has a radio and a cold one near his chair- If you wonder if he's breathin' all you do is check his stare-- He's in an Oklahoma coma-- Well he's a real big family man it sure is plain to see- He loves doing things with his kids while he's watchin' the tv-- He's a keeper to his wife cause after work that's where he'll be-- He's in an Oklahoma coma-- He's in an Oklahoma coma, his condition stays the same- He drinks longnecks, drives a pickup and sees every bedlam game-- He'll eat anything with gravy cause the man he has no shame-- He's in an Oklahoma coma-- Well you can try to dress him up but he's kinda still a dud- His favorite jeans, they got holes and his boots they got red mud-- The doctors they can't help him cause they say it's in his blood-- He's in an Oklahoma coma-- He's in an Oklahoma coma, his condition stays the same- He drinks longnecks, drives a pickup and sees every bedlam game-- Well he's got it on his belt in case he forgets his name-- He's in an Oklahoma coma-- Well it's just something he was born with so there's nobody to blame-- He's in an Oklahoma- I mean and Oklahoma-- He's in an Oklahoma coma--HA!
4. My Turn Oh I've done my share of laundry and sweepin' up the floors and I've done my share of chauferring, going to the stores and I've done my share of cookin', keepin' everybody fed and I've done my share of giving baths, and puttin' kids to bed-- Oh when's it my turn to stay out late- Oh when's it my turn to sleep in late oh- I've spent all of my adult life trying to be a good mom, trying to be a good wife, oh oh oh when is it my turn to have a life-- Oh I've seen your important job and how you get respect and I know between the two of us, you're bringing home the check- But I've seen the way your work is through, at least from sun to sun and I've seen that you don't see that my work is never done-- Oh when's it my turn to stay out late- Oh when's it my turn to sleep in late oh- I've spent all of my adult life trying to be a good mom, trying to be a good wife, oh oh oh when is it my turn to have a life-- Oh I could never leave- They are what I live for- But it wouldn't hurt to be appreciated more-- Oh when't it my turn to stay out late- Oh when's it my turn to sleep in late oh- I've spent all of my adult life trying to be a good mom, trying to be a good wife, oh oh oh when is it my turn to have a life-- Oh I've done my share of laundry and sweepin' up the floors
5. I Thought Wrong Well I thought if I fixed you chicken fry and baked you up a homemade apple pie, you'd come home from workin' no time to waste, stead of buyin' dinner for what's her face well-- I thought wrong- Guess I really strung myself along so- Here's the song cause I thought wrong-- Well I thought when I decided to cut your hair, standin' in my bra and my underwear, you might like to stay home lookin' at me stead of starin' at dancers until three well-- I thought wrong- Guess I really strung myself along so- Here's the song cause I thought wrong-- Well I'm a big girl, I know when I'm to blame- The writin's on the wall and the excuses are lame-- Well I thought if I gave you a nice massage layin' in the backbed of your old Dodge, you'd rub me down all over the place stead of rubbin' your girlfriend in my face well-- I thought wrong--Well I thought wrong- Guess I reallly strung myself along so- Here's the song cause I thought wrong- Well I thought wrong- Well I thought wrong- Well I'll take the blame on this one!
6. He Ain't He's as hard headed as they come and he sure ain't very neat- He loves to watch his tv set and prop up his feet-- But sometimes he says I'm pretty, and sometimes I get a wink- And when I think about those times it makes me think-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world but he ain't the worst- Oh yeah well he ain't quite bringin' up the rear but he ain't got up to first-- You know lovin' him has kinda been a blessing and a curse-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world but he ain't the worst-- Well I get tired of his late nights and how he hardly ever calls- And when we get to go out how he always stalls-- But sometimes he buys me dinner, and maybe even a drink- And when I think about those times it makes me think-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world but he ain't the worst-- Oh yeah well he ain't quite bringin' up the rear but he ain't got up to first-- You know lovin' him has kinda been a blessing and a curse-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world but he ain't the worst-- Well there's times I know I'm gonna go and put him on the shelf- But I just end up remindin' myself-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world but he ain't the worst-- Oh yeah well he ain't quite bringin' up the rear but he ain't got up to first-- You know lovin' him has kinda been a blessing and a curse-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world-- He ain't the greatest guy in the world but he ain't the worst-- Naw he ain't the worst-- Well he ain't the best-- But he ain't the worst
7. Grown Woman Well I'm so tired I keep gettin' told if you're over twenty-five hon, you're too old-- I'd like to know who made up that stinkin' rule-- Tell you I ain't buyin' it, I ain't some young fool-- Well there's movies, tv and billboard signs- Seem like they're all tryin' to get in line- Tryin' to make me feel like I'm way over the hill-- And they didn't think they'd hear from me, well now they will-- Cause I'm a grown woman and proud to be- I got beauty, brains and maturity- And ain't nobody givin' no slip to me cause I'm a grown woman-- Well once I was young and I was naive- Had my head in the clouds and my heart on my sleeve-- Some may think that was a long, long time ago- Oh but don't matter to me cause I know stuff they don't know-- See I can work, keep a house and raise a family- Yeah it's all about them, ain't just about me-- I was wearin' all the hats last time I checked- So look out world cause now I want my respect-- Cause I'm a grown woman and proud to be- I got beauty, brains and maturity- And I know the whole world don't revolve around me cause I'm a grown woman-- Now all ya little kids thinkin' I'm a has-been- Gonna spank your behinds and put you in your play pen-- Cause I'm a grown woman and proud to be- I got beauty, brains and maturity- And ain't nobody givin' no lip to me-- Cause I'm a grown woman and proud to be- I got beauty, brains and maturity-- And now the whole world's lookin' up to me cause I'm a grown woman-- Oh and now the whole world's lookin' up to me cause I'm a grown woman!
8. Places In Our Minds You know all their faces- The glasses that she wore-- And you remember pale-blue walls, the desks and hardwood floor-- But school can't last forever- For years it's been shut down-- So much has changed all over town-- You know all her dishes- The velvet on her chairs-- And you know every photograph that hangs along the stairs-- But there's no way to visit-- Grandma's house is gone-- But in your memory it lives on-- These are the places in our minds and they're frozen in time-- Just close your eyes and you will find the places in your mind-- You know all the colors- The curtains that you chose-- And you remember shelves of toys- The smell of baby clothes-- But it all changed so quickly cause babies grow so fast-- But nothing changes in the past-- These are the places in our minds and they're frozen in time-- Just close your eyes and you will find the places-- Oh the places in our minds- They are frozen in time-- Just close your eyes and you will find the places in your mind
9. The Morning Drive Alarm clock's buzzin' it's six am- Sure startin' rough in the shape I'm in-- Splash dance shirt pants head in a spin- Coffee in hand and I'm bucklin' in-- Oh headin' for the morning drive-- Wipers won't work and they're callin' for rain- Tank needs gas but it's such a pain-- Pump a few gallons to get me there- Stuck at a light hear a radio blare-- Oh headin' for the morning drive-- Oh oh it's the morning drive- And all I care is I'm gettin' there alive-- With the street crammed and the freeway jammed no telling when I'll arive-- Oh oh oh oh oh it's the morning drive-- Head down the ramp and I get in my lane- Drivers swerve 'round like they're insane-- Behind a guy drivin' like a ninety-year-old- Lady in the rear view diggin' for gold-- Oh oh it's the morning drive-- Traffic up ahead slowin' way way down- Exit and I drive all the way through town-- Clock's sure tickin' and my coffee's cold- Stop and go sure gettin' old--Oh oh it's the morning drive-- I'm in a race that I can't win- Cause even if I get there got to drive back home again, yeah yeah-- Oh oh it's the morning drive- And all I care is I'm gettin' there alive-- With the streets crammed and the freeway jammed no tellin' when I'll arrive-- Oh oh oh oh oh-- Oh oh oh oh oh-- Oh oh oh oh oh it's the morning drive
10. Get In Line Well I've known lots of people and knew they weren't my bud- Cause everytime I turned around they treated me like crud-- Other kids would put me down and grown-ups gave me hell- But I survived my childhood so it's all good and well-- I knew someday I'd make it, I knew I would be a star- And all those other punks I knew they'd never make it far-- So I'd like to give them credit- They need to take a bow-- Cause I'd sure like to see them now, hey!-- All the people who put me down just come on and get in line-- Funny now they wanna be my pal, well they can kiss my great big fat-- Behind every cloud's a silver lining- I'm sure glad that I found mine so all the people who put me down- Just come on and get in line-- Life still wasn't easy when I was all grown up- Unless you got the income you ain't never good enough-- So I worked hard to earn it- But my bosses sure were jerks-- Well they can come and see me now cause I'll give them some work, hey!-- All the people who put me down just come on and get in line-- Funny now they wanna be my pal, well they can kiss my great big fat-- Behind every cloud's a silver lining- I'm sure glad that I found mine so all the people who put me down just come on and get in line-- Well I don't really mean it, I would never hold a grudge- Just come on up and get in line and we'll shake hands.....naaah!-- All the people who put me down just come on and get in line-- Funny now they wanna be my pal, well they can kiss my great big fat--Behind every cloud's a silver lining- I'm sure glad that I found mine so all the people who put me down just come on and get in line-- Come, come get in line- Come on and get in line-- MWWAAAAA!!!
